YEAH! It's Friday and this begins a week long vacation for the kids! I know that they are ready for break....even though after a day or so they will start to say that they are bored. It's getting harder and harder to keep them occupied with those "simple pleasures" in life. I don't understand......they use to LIKE playing in the sink with the bubbles while doing the dishes :-) Oh well.....despite the boredom and the unfortunate moans and groans I'll hear from having them do some chores around here, it will be nice to have them around.
I finally got caught up in my picture taking......and so today I thought that I would post a card that I made a couple of weeks ago in class. It is very fitting considering Thanksgiving is right around the corner.......
It is a pretty straight forward card.....we used the Big Shot and the Leaves #2 die. Before we cut the leaves out we stamped the piece of cardstock with the Sanded background stamp and then embossed it. The acorns and the background images are from the Autumn Splendor stamp set that is in the current Holiday Mini. We stamped the leaves and then stamped some "texture" onto the background and leaves with the Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set....this is a great little set for things like this. The acorns were also embossed and then the "nut" part was filled with Crystal Effects and tied with a smal bit of Linen Thread. The sentiment is from the Level 1 hostess set Holiday Best.....which was punched using the (sadly) retired Key Tag punch layered on cardstock (sorry....can't remember the color) that was punched with the Curly Label punch. There is also a small amount of Dazzling Diamond glitter on the leaves in the sentiment.
During the same class we made a box using the Matchbox die to compliment the card. We used almost the same supplies for this.....
Here is what was on the inside.....
Well....that is it for today. Just in case I don't get around to posting before Thanksgiving.....
Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Until next time,
Bountiful Blessings.........Cindy
