STAMPIN' FOR FUN!!!!

Happy Friday!!

I just realized that it had been a LONG time since I stamped JUST FOR FUN!!! I was so busy getting ready for the Flatlander's that I didn't really have any time to be creative or to take part in SCS Challenges or any other other challenges for that matter. I have really missed that!!!

So, the remedy that....I made this card for the weekly SCS CAS Challenge ( CAS means....Clean and Simple). This week's challenge was to use just black and white and one color from the Bold Brights collection....I chose Real Red. This card couldn't hardly get any more simple!
Hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it!!!

Until next time,
Find some time for stamping!!!
Blessings, Cindy

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Darling Dots
Ink: Real Red, Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black
Accessories: 1-3/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/4" circle punches, 1/4" red gingham ribbon

RAK Welcome Cards

Here are pictures of the RAK Welcome cards that I received about 2 weeks ago. It was so fun to receive these cards.....This card was made by "MonicaA":
And this card was made by Jen ("jetstudio29")
I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things in regards to stamping......like taking part in RAK and SCS challenges.

Well, I'm off to get my work done so that I will have more time tonight and this weekend to play!!

Until next time,

SCRAPBOOK CARD & KITTENS

Here is a "scrapbook card" that I made.....it is adapted from JanTink's creation (view her blog here). I scaled it down to 5x5 panels so that I could use 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock and get 2 panels from 1 sheet. There actually is not too much stamping....mostly die cuts (LOVE that Big Shot) and punches (LOVE those punches!). The circles are made with the Circle Scissor Plus....which I am beginning to feel comfortable using....don't ask me why I'm freaked out by it :-D.
By making this "card" a 5x5 size, it can easily slip into a 6x6 envelope so that you can actually mail this to somebody.

A few of you have asked for an update on the kitties.....Here is a picture that I quickly took this morning of the baby kittens....who are 5 weeks today! They are frisky and ADORABLE!! It's hard to get a decent picture since they are busy chasing tails, attacking their box and each other, exploring the patio, and getting to know our black lab, Jesse....who I might add is so cute with them!! I think she would mother them if she could!
Out of the 7 we have 1 runt. He is about 1/2 the size as the others. About 2 weeks ago, we began to supplement him with a bottle since he was beginning to get rooted out by the bigger ones. We had our doubts about his survival, but it looks like he is going to make it. Here is a picture of him from a couple of days ago after he was fed.
He has become a family favorite....my daughter likes to wrap him up like a baby. When he's finished eating he turns the purring on full blast! I think he is going to be the best of the bunch as far as being lovable....but he's also getting quite spoiled!!

I will work on getting a picture of all of them. Trying to get a good picture of them has made me really admire nature photographers!!!

Until next time,

I'M BACK!!!

Gosh! I can hardly believe that it has been a week and a half since I posted last....the days have flown by.

As an update....my mother is doing great! No side affects or anything from her recent vertigo. In fact, she went RVing with my cousin and her husband over Memorial Day weekend.

Another "weird" medical thing happened to our son, Andy. About a week ago he was sitting at the dining room table doing homework when, out of the blue, he started groaning from abdominal pain. Within about 5-10 minutes he was on the floor in horrible pain. My husband took him to the emergency room and the doctor immediately thought it was appendicitis. They gave him morphine for the pain and then proceeded to give him a blood test, which came back normal, and then he had an abdominal CT scan, which also came out normal. The fact that both his blood work and insides were all normal was great.....but nothing could explain his pain. So, around 2 a.m. he came home. The next day we took him to see his pediatrician (Andy is 12), but again, he checked out totally normal. So....we have no idea what or where his pain came from, but it is gone. Kinda weird!

We also had my husband's brother and wife out for 4 days from Colorado......it is always great to spend time with them. While they were out we went to see the new "Star Trek" movie!!! I LOVE anything Star Trek!!!! GREAT movie even if you are not a Trekkie. Also, Donna and I took in some much needed retail therapy!!

During my blog absence I had a card that I had entered into a SU contest (no, I didn't win) posted on the demonstrator website's "Stampers' Showcase" on May 17th. Since I can't post a picture of the actual card, I took a picture of the website....here's my card......
It was for a "Bleach It" contest....I used bleaching for the cupcakes and the cupcake stand. I check out the "Stampers' Showcase" everyday......kinda fun to see your own work there. This is actually my second card to be featured.....I had another one posted sometime around Christmas.

Well, I still feel WAY BEHIND in the posting department.....my mind is spinning with all the stuff that I want to post. Hopefully, all the weird things are over for the summer and I can get back into my nice little (boring) routine!!

Until next time,
Find some time for stamping!!!

RELIEVED!!!

Thank you all for praying for my mom!! Thankfully she did NOT have a stroke.....only a severe case of vertigo. She is still in the hospital but only because she wasn't able to see a neurologist over the weekend. She is scheduled to have an MRI and some other x-ray-type tests today, but is expected to be released today. Well, I guess my mom really is just a "dizzy" blond! :-)

PRAYER REQUEST

Please pray for my mom.....she is in the hospital.

This morning she was going to go to the mountains with my cousin and her husband and on the way she got terribly dizzy and sick. It was so bad that my cousin took her to the emergency room. She is being admitted and will be undergoing numerous tests for a possible stroke and I'm not sure what all.

Thank you all.....not sure when I will get a chance to post again.....Cindy

UPDATE

Whew! Where do I begin????

Flatlanders......Like I mentioned...it went well. I sold enough to be satisfied that the effort was worth it. It was a long day, but I had a great time talking with people and playing "store". The first thing that I sold out of was anything Mother's Day. Next time, I will be more aware of dates like that when I prepare. Also, people LOVE a bargain!! I had a box of OLD, OLD cards that I almost threw away, but in stead, decided to put out for .25 each....wouldn't you know it....people gobbled them up! All in all, it was a GRAND time and I would do it again!! Here's a picture of what my booth looked like at the beginning of the day....
Here's a picture of the type of help I had that day.....I think my husband, Steve, was really sleeping under those glasses!!! :-D
Oh yeah....one more thing I learned....don't try and cram too many different types of things in one booth.....meaning......cards and SU stuff, olives, and miscellaneous gift items. We all did ok, but I think we all would have done better with separate booths.

Also, I had made a bunch of gift boxes.....here's a picture of one that I had left....
Kittens....my goodness, do they grow FAST!! They are beginning to want to play with each other and are getting curious of their surroundings. They are rollie-pollie balls of fur and claws. The picture isn't great, but here is one that I took just this morning....
This little one looks just like it's mother!! I will try and get some better pictures of them....they wiggle and squirm around lots, so I will wait until one of the kids can help me wrangle them!

Stamping stuff....yesterday was my Scrapbooking Club. Once a month we make 2 12x12 pages.....I am really beginning to enjoy it. I haven't yet made any on my own, but now that Flatlander's is over I will have more time to stamp. Here is a picture of the 2 pages we made yesterday.....
The picture doesn't do these pages justice....the flowers were stamped on vellum cardstock, embossed and then dusted with Dazzling Diamonds glitter....they're really quite gorgeous! Gloria does an excellent job of designing these pages each month!!

Stampin' Up! is currently offering some fabulous promotions.....particularly for scrapbookers. Also, you can become a demonstrator for ONLY $75!!! Both of these promotions I will detail tomorrow....this post is just getting too long for even me!!

I still have my RAK welcome cards to post and it seems like something else, but I can't think of it now. The dust is beginning to settle from all the things that have been going on, so I will be better at being more prompt with my posts.

Until next time,
Find some time for stamping!!!
Blessings to you, Cindy

A QUICK POST

Happy Thursday!!! I know it has been a week since I posted anything but I have some good reasons....

First of all, the Flatlander's Craft Fair......it went good, not great, but I am pleased with how much I sold. It was fun to talk with people. But by the time it was over I was BUSHED!!! We had church the next day, so after that....I just crashed!!

Lastly, on Monday, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law from Colorado arrived. In fact, they are still here and will be leaving today. It's early in the morning and nobody is yet up, so I thought I would sneak in here and post something real quick!

Friday, I will be able to take the time to post pictures some of Flatlander's and the baby kittens.

Real quick....the babies are GROWING!!! They are beginning to get frisky and are just now beginning to look around....they are so cute!!!

Until tomorrow!!
Find some time for stamping!!!

2 DAYS TO GO!!! YIKES!!!

Happy Thursday!!! I didn't realize that it had been almost a week since I made a post....sorry! But I have some good reasons.....I went to my mom's last weekend and then this week we had some friend's of ours (and also the pastor of our church) children staying with us while they went to a church planting conference in San Diego. So, believe it or not, I haven't had time to do ANY stamping.

Had a GREAT time with my mom and sisters.....we worked finishing up some projects that she wanted finished, played Scrabble (of course!!), and made a trip to IKEA!!! (my first time!!). IKEA is a shopper's Disneyland!!! We had such a fun time just being together.....it made the first anniversary of Dick's death much easier for her.
My mom in her cowboy hat :-D
Hey, I think mom's peeking in the dictionary!!!
Lookout shoppers....here we come!! :-D

Today, I need to finish up some things for the Flatlander's Craft Fair on Saturday. At this point, I'm not as ready as I would like to be, but I'm going to work my tail off the next 2 days and will hopefully feel better about it all after that.....and even if I don't get what I want done....Flatlander's won't wait for me....I'll just have to go with what I have!

I have some things to post, but those will have to wait until after Saturday.....I received some more RAK welcome cards. How wonderful to receive cards.....what a novel idea!!! Also, I want to give an update on the baby kittens....they are 2 weeks today. They are beyond ADORABLE!!! I'll take some more pictures and post them. I'll also be sure to take pictures at the Flatlander's and let you know how that went...hopefully I'll have some great news!!

Until next time,
Find some time for stamping!!!
