A CHEERY CHERRY CARD

Hi Stampers!!

Thanks for dropping in!

Today's card is one that I cased from another demonstrator who had posted it on the demonstrator only website Stampin Connection. She doesn't have a blog, but her name is Renae Lyon......so, she is the designer of this cute card. I pretty much copied it exactly....which I don't do very often. I usually change something, but this time...it's an exact copy! We are making this card this evening at my monthly stamp club.

I used the Tart and Tangy stamp set.....which is a DARLING set!!! It doesn't show up in the photo, but I put Crystal Effects on the cherries to make them pop! Other than that....it's pretty well a straight forward card. Bashful Blue, Real Red, and Whisper White are a perfect combination! (Sorry....the colors are a bit faded out in this picture.)

CLUB SWAP CARD ~ COLOR RENOVATION

Hey there Stampers! Thanks for taking the time to pop in!

Today, I wanted to show you the card that I made for my stamp club swap.....I used the always-beautiful-no-matter-what-you-do Inspired By Nature stamp set. This really is such a GREAT set....very verstile!! You can't really tell from the picture...but I painted the tops of the flowers with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint....they look REALLY PRETTY in real life!!! If you haven't bought these.....they are still available.....they're great and easy to use too!!

Since Stampin' Up! announced their Color Renovation, I have been trying to use up all my soon-to-be-retired cardstock. My card's base is Close to Cocoa. I used Lovely Lilac for the liner and the flowers....the grass is stamped with Certainly Celery and the flower leaves with Old Olive. The flower tops are with Chocolate Chip....I didn't have a Close to Cocoa marker ;-)

Just in case you've been out of touch with the world.....Stampin' Up! (SU) recently announced that they are renovating the basic color families.....and retiring a bunch of "regular" colors that have been around for a few years. I am VERY EXCITED about this new change.....I think the new color organization is going to be the FANTASTIC!!! I think SU has picked the BEST OF THE BEST colors....and what is SO COOL is that they are bringing back some retired In Colors.....and what's even COOLER is that most of the colors they are bringing back are some of my FAVORITES!!! BABY CARD

Hi Stampers!!

I wanted to share with you the card that I made to go with the baby quilt that I had made using the Big Shot (you can check out that post here). This card is for my husband's neice who had a baby boy. We were going to go to Colorado to see them but our plans have changed, so I will be mailing it to them instead.

MORE BIRTHDAY CARDS

Good Morning Stampers!

Hey, I wanted to share with you a few more birthday cards that I received.....it sure was FUN getting them!! Makes me realize that I need to be better about getting cards in the mail to others......goodness knows I definitely have enough of them laying around :-)

These cards are all so creative and WONDERFUL!! I love seeing different styles and techniques....the last one with the fish has a really interesting background, not quite sure how she did that, I'm going to have to try and find out. It's also layered with a clear window sheet.

SPOTLIGHTING TECHNIQUE

Hi Stampers!

This week I have been working on a technique swap for a meeting with my Stampin' Up! upline this Friday......I'll just say right now.....using different techniques is NOT something that I normally do, so it has been good for me to do this. I'm SO prone to just doing pretty much the same thing.....so I'm forcing myself out of my comfort zone.

Anyway....for our swap all we are doing is showing a technique on a Top Note.....not making a whole card. Here is what they look like.....I made 6 just like this, with instructions on the back.

I will come home with 5 different technique cards.....which will be stored on a ring by the eyelet....and since each one will have instructions on the back, it will make it real easy for me to be brave and try a new technique!

Anyways....before I made these I had to experiment. So, with the "rejects" I made the following cards.....

Both of these cards are pretty much exactly the same.....except for color. I will add that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this new stamp set....Elements of Style.... that is in the new Summer Mini catalog. It's GREAT!!! I'm going to be using this set LOTS!!
